As some of you know, my day job, for more than twenty-five years now, is portraits.
Most days you’ll find me in my studio on Broadbury Circle, or out on location, making
camera-shy corporate executives & entrepreneurs look rather better than they
feared they would.

So when I found this VIP on a twisted branch late in the afternoon just outside Satara,
I did what I always do. Waited for the light, watched for the moment the head turned,
and treated it exactly as I’d treat any portrait sitter. For once I didn’t have to say a
word about relaxing the shoulders. The pale sky did the rest.
