Commvault Africa appoints channel lead
Gerhard Fourie has been appointed channel lead at Commvault. He will oversee a drive for growth across the company’s
recently expanded region that includes the African continent (excluding Egypt) and the Indian Ocean islands, positioning
the company as the leading data management partner of choice.
Fourie joined Commvault in June 2016 as channel manager for South Africa. While overseeing the Africa region and
the Indian Ocean islands, Fourie will ensure that Commvault creates top of mind awareness within the entire region
about the power of Commvault’s data management platform.
Some of Fourie’s key priorities include aligning Commvault Africa with relevant original equipment manufacturer
(OEM) partners in the region. This is to ensure growth in Africa while supporting its sales team with a skilled partner base.
New system sales manager for Hytec SA
Werner Voigt has been appointed to the position of system sales manager for Hytec South Africa, effective 01 June 2021.
Werner joined Hytec SA as a project technician in July 2013 and over the years has developed sales opportunities for
the company in his roles as a system sales technician, regional system sales engineer and project manager. He brings
extensive sales experience and sales management expertise to his new position.
Hytec SA is a member of the Bosch Rexroth South Africa Group of Companies.
SRK Consulting appoints GM
Leading global firm of engineers and scientists SRK Consulting has appointed Marius van Huyssteen as general manager
in its South African practice.
As partner in SRK’s Durban office since 2019, Van Huyssteen has 17 years of experience in environmental, social and
governance (ESG) and has been a principal environmental scientist at the firm since 2014.
The newly created position of general manager at SRK would be to support SRK SA’s managing director, Vis Reddy,
with the coordination of various day-to-day operational tasks while providing management oversight of SRK’s support
departments. This restructure of management responsibilities seeks to improve operational efficiencies and implement
company-wide strategic initiatives related to internal business processes.
His academic foundation is a BSc in microbiology and biotechnology from the University of Cape Town and a BSc (Hons) in environmental
management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He holds a range of other qualifications in fields including environmental auditing and project
management and is a practicing environmental assessment practitioner (EAP).
