COVID-19 has necessitated an urgent and nimble
response from the staff and students at Steyn City
School. It has dictated a new way of teaching and
learning in schools across the country and the World.
Many of the structures of our Remote Learning
Programme have remained in place from 2020 and so
our move to and from an online delivery is seamless,
with our students demonstrating their online learning
      skills with enviable ease.

There is no doubt that in-class teaching is far preferred
by students and teachers. Nothing replaces the
engaged conversations and discussions teachers and
students enjoy when they are at school, but our talented
and skilled teachers make every effort to keep their
lessons enjoyable, engaging, and meaningful for their
students, even if this meant dressing up to keep their
attention! Our school is one where happy children learn!

Our students continue to read, write, debate, discuss,
and explore whether learning from home or on campus.
We prepare them for a changing world by entrenching
values and building skills such as creativity,
      collaboration, curiosity, agility, and innovation.

Our learning platform allows for multiple methods of
teaching. Teachers use online collaboration rooms for
smaller discussions and the MS Teams whiteboard
replaces the interactive boards used in classrooms.
When on campus our students have access to the finest
facilities. Each classroom has been carefully designed
to optimize the learning experience, with large external
verandahs inviting the outdoors in. The Preparatory
School and College both boast state-of-the-art science
laboratories, music, and art rooms. Robotics,
programming, virtual reality technology, and Minecraft
can be found in The Hive in the Preparatory School and
The Hub in the College. The Hub’s interactive pod is
another special feature, providing a space where
students can attend workshops or work with visual
material. Other facilities include a 300-seater tiered
Theatre, a water-based Astro turf, indoor Aquatics
      Centre with a learn-to-swim pool, 5 multi-courts, sports
fields, a cricket oval, as well as playgrounds in our Early
      Learning Centre and Foundation Phase.

We thank our teachers for navigating the challenges of
Covid-19 with resilience, flexibility, humour, and grace. It
is the resilience of their students that really motivates
them to forge ahead, knowing that better times will WE REACH BEYOND
return. Our school motto, ‘We Reach Beyond’, has
never been more applicable! ENROL TODAY | STEYNCITYSCHOOL.CO.ZA |
