certainly generated interest in our beautiful
golf course and estate. We are seeing increased
bookings at the golf club, but there is still ample
capacity for those wanting to play. To keep the
interest going, some new initiatives have been
launched at the golf club which offer great
opportunities to compete in fun formats:
• The Taste Wednesday School was launched
on 28 September 2022. It’s a competition that
offers some wonderful prizes, and with green
fees and competition fees starting from just
R290, it promises a fun afternoon out. The fees
include after-game snacks and happy hour
from 5-6pm.
• The Captains Cup took place on 1 October.

• The Knockout Tournament, which pits golfers
against each other in search of the best
individual and team knockout champions,
concludes in October. Everyone is waiting to
see who the eventual winners are going to be.

Tournament will be announced in the next
edition.
LOUD AND PROUD
Congratulations to Winda and Amelia for
finishing as runners-up in the Windhoek Lager
International Pairs SA Final.
We also congratulate Shakeel Jassat (a Blue
Valley Golf Club youth member) on achieving
his first hole in one. Shakeel was playing in a
four-ball, which included his proud dad, on
4 September 2022, when he accomplished
the rare feat of a hole in one. The youngster
(13 handicap) was playing Blue Valley’s
signature 2nd hole and struck the perfect shot,
which resulted in a slam dunk. At just 17 years
old, his golfing future is assured.
SUMMER BOOKINGS
Getting ready for the summer season is part of
the fun at Blue Valley and we look forward to
welcoming members and visitors to the course.
Visitors are now able to book on a Sunday for
the following Saturday and we have introduced
discounted midweek rates. With these changes,
we look forward to Blue Valley becoming a
golfing destination of choice.
