quality but require less chef-power to produce.
Secondly, to save on staffing and utilities costs
by opening a little later than in the past, that is at
11:30 am for lunch service, and closing on a Sunday
night. The legendary weekend breakfast buffet
that had people travelling from as far as Pretoria
North and the East Rand has also been a casualty
due to the legislative restrictions on how a buffet
may operate, which is not possible with the current
configuration. Finally, systems are in place to
ensure the health of diners in the restaurant. They
are evident everywhere: from the complimentary
alcohol on entry – hand sanitiser, to the QR coded
no-touch menu, wine and cocktail list, to the empty
tables which are only set once diners sit with
sanitised cruets and cutlery in sanitised bags, and
served by masked waiters.
The future is, to say the least, unpredictable but
one thing is for certain - an afternoon or evening
out at Karoo Bar and Grill is still a guarantee of
excellent food an ambience to take you away from
the daily grind for an hour or two, and maybe even
make some memories of your own…
