to being involved in a sport like
motor racing for young people like
yourselves?
Gerard: There are benefits to racing
that come in handy on and off the
track, such as having the ability to
control a car when it veers out at high
speeds. Learning to control your fear
when doing speeds of up to 240 km
per hour, with the walls of the track just
meters away from you. Also learning
the discipline when racing with other
drivers and having awareness of other
cars relative to you, knowing where
they are and where to place your car
and how to overtake safely. It is funny
that racing on the track on weekends
somehow takes away the urge to race
on the roads.
Antwan: One of the best things
about being involved in motor sport,
is gaining confidence and control in
handling a car. You also learn how to
push your own limits and where to find
a balance of speed and car control. It
also gives you an advantage of learning Gerard at Zwartkops Raceway outside Pretoria
how to react quickly in any situation
and to not falter under pressure. I Gerard: There are so many funny drivers were not happy, but it ended

and friends had lots to say about that

What are your future dreams or goals
for racing?
Gerard: As a personal achievement
I would like to win the Formula Ford
Championship but realistically, racing
will always be a hobby for me as it is
very difficult to make a career out of it.
Antwan: My dream, ever since I can
remember, is to become a F1 driver. I
know that it is going to be a long road
until I reach that, so for the moment
my goal is to win the Formula 1600
championship and see how it goes
from there.
