DÈCOR TRENDS

        Making every cent count
Follow these three basic guidelines; they will help you
        to stick to your budget:
        • Wedding date – Do in-depth research about the cost
          of venues.
        • Number of guests – The number of guests invited
will play a significant role in the wedding cost. Rank
them from most important to least important.
        • Dream theme – Decide on a theme: will it be a
weekend wedding in the bush or the city, and would
you like a formal, elegant or traditional style or
          something more modern?

It’s best to determine beforehand how much funding
will be available for your summer wedding. The actual
planning work can start as soon as this has been
        finalised.

                                                                              Wedding photography and

Over the past few years, wedding photography
                                                                              and videography have evolved massively,
                                                                              creating visually stunning and emotionally

                                                                              • Black and white stills and video

        Music for the ceremony
        Use classical music and have
        musicians perform live for the
church service. Do not rely on pre-
        recorded musical soundtracks or
backtracks – they are impersonal and
need all kinds of sound technology
that could quickly spoil the dignified
        atmosphere of the ceremony.

        Music for the reception
        Suitable music for the reception
is just as important as the music
for the ceremony, and it should be
        planned thoroughly beforehand
        with the musicians, orchestra or
        disc jockey (DJ). Include music
        for different dance styles. An
        experienced dance orchestra or DJ
can read the crowd and will keep
        guests grooving merrily on the
        dance floor.
