Alert level 4
n Sunday 27 June 2021, President Cyril Ramaphosa
announced the placement of the country under
Adjusted Alert Level 4 for two weeks, due to the
Oworrying increase in the numbers of COVID-19
infections in South Africa.
As of 27 June, the seven-day average of new daily COVID-19
infections nationally has overtaken the peak of the first wave in
July last year, and will soon overtake the peak of the second wave
experienced in January this year.
Gauteng accounts for more than 60% of new cases in the country
and, with the exception of the Northern Cape and Free State, • Conference facilities;
infections are also rising rapidly in all the other provinces. • Residential facilities for the aged.
Persons rendering security or maintenance at these facilities may

To contain the massive surge in infections, the following restrictions
will be in place for 14 days from Monday, 28 June 2021: AlcOHOl
- The sale of alcohol is prohibited for both on-site and off-site

- The curfew is from 9pm to 4am
- Apart from permitted workers, no person may be outside their TRAvel
place of residence during curfew. - Non-essential travel between provinces is prohibited.
- Travel between provinces is permitted only for business purposes,

- All social, religious, political and other gatherings are prohibited.
- Funerals and cremations are permitted, but attendance may not clOSuRe Of ScHOOlS
