FAMILY CAMPOUT AT FOURWAYS

GARDENS PHASE 1 PARK

ith record temperatures for
March, our campers set out
midday to find the perfect
Wspot to pitch a tent and settle
in for the Family Campout. Kids helped,
dads sweated, and moms gave lots of
advice! Jokes aside, it was wonderful to see
families work together to get ready for a fun
day and night in the park.

At about 4pm, we brought a waterslide
to the park as it was incredibly hot with
temperatures soaring at 32°C. The children
loved playing on it under the watchful eyes
of parents and our paramedic who was on
hand. At 7:30pm we had to deflate the slide
to get the kids off and get the soccer game
started on the field, this was concluded at
11:00pm, mostly due to exhaustion.

Thanks to Kobus Verster, some spotlights
magically appeared to ensure the field was
lit for the game to continue after dark. In
between all the action, the braai fires were
lit, families enjoyed their evening meals
with the great company of neighbours and
kids roasted marshmallows around the fire
at the end of an exhausting day creating
lifelong memories for our children and their
families. As the evening wore on, campsites
powered down, and only a few outcrops of
fireside chatter could be heard long into
the night!
