Khomani San outreach 2021
he Khomani San outreach team
visited the Khomani San at
TAndriesvale in the Northern Cape
for the first time since 2019. It was great to
reconnect with our friends in the Kalahari
after COVID restrictions prevented the
outreach in 2020.
The week’s activities included church
services, home visits, fun games with the
children and the delivery of clothing gift
parcels. Special attention was paid to the
youth and children and each one received
a gift bag containing a bible activity book,
crayons and a few other items.
150 cloth masks were donated to school
children who are frequently not able to
attend school when their masks are lost or
damaged.
200 families consisting of almost 700
community members each received
clothing parcels that were specifically
packed for that family. The desired number
of clothing items were prepacked in Pretoria
and a team of the Khomani assisted with
the sorting and packing of clothing items in
accordance to the needs of each family.
The Khomani San are fond of their pets
and these animals benefited from the
distribution of food bowls as well as 800kg
of dog and cat food. Many animals were de-
wormed and treated for ticks, fleas and lice.
A bush braai with some of the community
leaders and sunset on the pan were some
of the highlights of a special and very
successful outreach.
We would like to thank the many donors
for their contributions that contributed to
the success of this outreach.
