        upside down in the pot. The water will
        slowly seep into the soil and keep it
        saturated with moisture. Make sure that
        excess water can drain out of the pot.
        For longer holiday periods, consider the
        following for indoor, potted and garden
        plants:
        *if you can, ask a neighbour or friend to
        pop in while you’re away, but if this is not
        possible, consider the following automatic
        watering solutions:
        *a holiday watering set can water up
        to 36 potted plants. It includes three
        different distributors, each with 12 outlets
        catering to different watering needs;
        *a solar powered set can take care of up
        to 20 plants and comes with 14 preset
        watering programmes guaranteeing even
        water distribution. It is ideal for plants on
        the balcony and requires nothing more
        than an additional bucket;
        *a water control select connects directly
        to a tap, and a hose can then connect
        it to a sprinkler, micro drip irrigation or
        underground sprinkler system. Three
        different watering schedules can be set
        on a detachable control panel, including
        the start time and duration displayed on
        the LCD screen.
