BEAULIEU

       SUSTAINABILITY

       PROJECTS

       Beaulieu Preparatory School recently
hosted an event where its Grade 7
       students showcased their sustainability
projects; it was a celebration of creativity,
critical thinking and their commitment to
       building a better future.
Students delved into the impact of
       the Fourth Industrial Revolution on
       sustainability, weighing its benefits
       and ethical considerations. In Natural
       Sciences, they researched renewable
       energy and designed concept cars
powered by solar, wind and biofuel energy.
They also used their entrepreneurial flair to
create games and toys for younger pupils,
       emphasising the importance of reducing,
       recycling, recovering and reusing.
The event also highlighted the importance
       of sustainability in education, aligning
with global initiatives like the UN's 2030
       Agenda for Sustainable Development and
       South Africa’s National Development Plan
       2030.
These projects brought to life the idea that
sustainability isn’t just something to learn
about—it’s something to live and breathe
every day. Educators work constantly to
       include sustainability in the curriculum.
