Tstands brings further recreational
opportunities and lifestyle enhancements
to the estate. In addition to the above-
mentioned activities, there are hiking trails
and purpose-built trail routes for mountain
biking.
The facility has been constructed on
sloped ground, which has both advantages
and disadvantages. The initial platforms
and bulk earthworks were constructed
from G6 material, with a final layer of G5.
They were then cut and retaining walls were
built in between the various platforms. The
advantage of this is that there are better
views from one court to another as they
are on different levels, and this is preferable
aesthetically to having all the courts on the
same level. The retaining walls and pavilion
seating built between the various platforms
sustain the different levels.
Eye of Africa’s Mark McGovern provided
the layout of the facility, which was
implemented by the Turftech team. They
were responsible for the following work:
• laser levelling of the court areas;
• kerbing and paving;
• construction of retaining walls and
pavilion seating;
Concrete seating for spectators between the pickleball and multi-purpose courts • concrete bases for the four padel courts;
