HONOURING OUR GREEN HEROES

reen heroes are people who fly the
flag in support of a cause – in this
Gcase, the South African green industry.
They dedicate their lives to environmental
protection, enhancement and care-taking of
the natural world. We are indebted to them
for this.
In the previous issue of Landscape SA, we
featured the SALI trophy and gold award
winners, and in this issue, the SANA awards.
Although they have their own organisations,
they are intrinsically linked to each other
based on their common purpose, as given
above.
On doing a Google search, I came across
a several quotes on a website, giving a few
‘South African voices speaking up for the
environment.’ They too are our green heroes:
