Thinking of going on a

Photographic Safari?

hy do some people choose to go
on a guided Photographic Safari
Wwhile others prefer to make their
own arrangements? I decided to compare
costs and look at the pros and cons of both
options.

I based my choice of destination on one
of South Africa’s premier photographic
destinations, especially for the big cats: the
Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
I used the price of a local operator for a four-
night stay with three meals and two game
drives a day as the benchmark. This rate
excludes transportation to and from the
lodge as well as reserve entrance fees. The
cost of transfers indicated below is based
on six people sharing the transfer costs.
