ESTATE NEWS
TREE-PLANTING PROJECT
ogether with the Garden Group, the Silver Lakes Environmental
Committee recently decided that additional small tree varieties
Tshould be planted on each of the street corners in Gleneagles Drive.
The aim of this project is not only to beautify but also to increase the
number of indigenous trees in Silver Lakes as this will help to support
biodiversity within the estate.
The varieties planted include River Indigo, Wild Pear, False Olive, Pompom
and Lavender trees. Now that the trees have been planted, we just need to
wait for them to settle in and start flourishing.
We hope all our residents enjoy the new trees for years to come. As a wise
man once said: “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose
shade they know they shall never sit in.”
