THE OVER-50s DO IT AGAIN!

n September we held the fourth Covid Cup LET’S GO
at Silver Lakes. Who would come out on
Itop this year: the U/50s captained by Pierre
Spies, or the O/50s captained by Henry Roodt?

After 36 holes of golf on Saturday, the O/50s SILVER LAKES!
were leading by one point – the score was 20.5
to 19.5. It was a very close day with all to play
for on Sunday in the singles.
F45 TRAINING IS A GLOBAL FITNESS
The O/50s started very slowly on Sunday
(I think Saturday night was to blame), while AND LIFESTYLE COMMUNITY
the U/50s came out firing, winning all the
early games and creating a five-point lead at
one stage. They say you can’t beat experience,
and it showed. As the later games started to
finish, the O/50s were clawing their way back.
They eventually won the last game on Sunday
to clinch the Covid Cup for a second year by
one point. The final score was 40.5 to 39.5!

It was a fabulous event and everyone had a
great time. To all the sponsors who made it
possible – Momentum, King Price, Nando’s,
SPS and SAB – we thank you. And to the two
captains, Henry and Pierre, and their teams,
well played!
