SILVER LAKES CHESS TOURNAMENT
he Silver Lakes Chess Club open
tournament took place on Saturday,
T15 April at the Silver Lakes Clubhouse.
The format was a 5-round Swiss tournament
with a time control of 55:55 minutes plus
5-second increments.
In total, 200 players took part ranging in age
from five to 80 years old. Everyone enjoyed the
challenge and the event was a huge success.
The estate sponsored six players from
disadvantaged communities and the Chess
Club sponsored six more players.
We awarded seven gold, seven silver, seven
bronze, seven best female players and three
best junior player medals.
