FIRST AID AWARENESS COURSE

e all know the importance of being prepared
in an emergency. On 17 May, a first aid
Wawareness course was held at the clubhouse
for nannies and domestic workers in the estate.

In total, 19 people attended. The morning was spent
equipping the attendees with the necessary knowledge of
what to do in case of an emergency. The topics covered
were as follows:

Basic principles of first aid and safety:
• Vital signs
• Shock and fainting
• Examination of a patient
• Choking emergencies
• CPR
• Wound dressing and bandages

Extensive time was spent on the last two topics’ practical
components. Each person could practise, and the facilitator
ensured that the correct techniques were being applied.
