RESIDENTS GIVE GENEROUSLY TO
WOLLIES ANIMAL SHELTER
ollies Animal Shelter, affectionately known as ‘Wollies’, was
established in 2003 and grew from humble beginnings. The
Winitial purpose of the shelter was to sterilise as many animals
as possible. Over time, the shelter also started helping abandoned,
neglected and abused animals.
It was subsequently registered as a non-profit, pro-life organisation, and
as such, does not receive any government funding. Every cat and dog that
is brought to the shelter stays at Wollies until they find a loving home.
Silver Lakes conducted a Winter Pet Food and Blanket drive in June,
whereby residents could donate dog or cat food and blankets for animals
in need. The donations received were delivered to Wollies Animal Shelter
on 5 July, as the accompanying photos show.
