SILVER LAKES CHESS TOURNAMENT

he 2026 Silver Lakes Chess Club Open Tournament For those inspired to get involved, Silver Lakes Chess Club welcomes
once again proved why it is one of the most players of all levels. Club evenings are held every Wednesday from
Tanticipated events on the Tshwane Chess Region’s 18:00 to 20:00 in the Chapel Room, where members and visitors alike
calendar. With just over 200 entries, players from across can enjoy friendly games, analysis, and some chess lessons presented by

The A Section, featuring 34 players, delivered some of the Karin Louw
tournament’s most exciting chess as competitors battled Silver Lakes Chess Club
for top positions. Adding to the event’s prestige, several of
these players had recently competed in the South African
Senior Closed Chess Championships, ensuring a very strong
and experienced field at the top boards.

Players travelled from all over Gauteng to participate,
highlighting the growing reputation of the Silver Lakes event
as a must-play tournament for both aspiring and seasoned
players. The competition also saw strong participation from
Silver Lakes Chess Club members, many of whom performed
admirably against tough opposition.

Beyond the results, the tournament showcased the vibrant
chess community that continues to grow around the club.
