Ted Baker
Lovers of quintessential British luxury clothing brand, Ted
Baker London, will be blown away to find its quirky take on
developing unique concept stores that trace the history of
its surroundings, expressed as an old school launderette,
at its new Mall of Africa flagship store. This store design
takes inspiration from the former Rand Steam Laundries,
an enterprise launched during Joburg’s early mining
town days, which grew so popular that hotels all over SA
sent their laundry to be cleaned and dyed there before it
closed in the early ‘60s. “We were thrilled to discover the
history of the Rand Steam Laundries and immediately saw
it as an opportunity to design Ted’s very own launderette!
We can’t wait to share our ‘80s approach of cool colours,
text signage, bespoke graphic laundry products and
washing machines with the Mall of Africa’s shoppers,” says
Neil Jones, brand manager for Ted Baker South Africa.
