W aterfall City’s thriving
logistics precinct has a
new landmark, thanks
to the completion of
DHL Express’ purpose-built service
centre, which serves as the new
corporate offices for DHL Express
South Africa. This facility is not just
another commercial building; it’s
the first carbon-neutral DHL Express
service centre in sub-Saharan
Africa, representing a remarkable
commitment to a sustainable future.
Named Baobab, after the indigenous
tree that has come to symbolise
a meeting place and shelter, the
new facility offers a thoughtful
blend of functionality, future-proof
technology, and environmentally
responsible design. “We’ve put
significant effort into aligning this
facility with global environmental
concerns,” says Jed Michaletos, the
Managing Director of DHL Express
South Africa, sharing the ethos that
guided the development.
