The recently updated 2023 Waterfall City Field Guide – a 170-
page publication – highlighting the City’s deep connection
with its natural environment details the rich history,
ecology, and geology of Waterfall City while showcasing its
extensive biodiversity, including indigenous trees, shrubs,
wildlife, and more. An impressive 261 species of birds have
been sighted in the development, including the Lesser
Flamingo, Verreaux’s Eagle and Klaas’s Cuckoo, spotted
last year. Several mammals can also be found here, such as
mongoose, Genet, and Jackal, to name a few.
While the 2024 update PDF can be found on the
Residents’ Portal, a limited number of printed copies
of the Waterfall City Field Guide are still available.
