WATER MATTERS Please note the MMC for Environment, Infrastructure, and
BE WATER-WISE Service Delivery, Councillor Nico De Jager, has reminded
GARDENING FOR BEES
all Johannesburg residents that level-1 water restrictions
in the municipality are still in place. Johannesburg Water,
in an effort to maintain a culture of water conservation, is
still implementing level -1 water restrictions according to
section 44 (3) of the Water Services By-law:
• Between 08:00 - 16h00 during 1 April and 31 August, all
residents are prohibited from watering and irrigating their
gardens;
• All residents are prohibited from using a hose-pipe to
clean paved areas and driveways with municipal water.
The City of Johannesburg has again urged all residents to
continue to use water sparingly as the rain starved winter
months approach. Residents are also advised to continue
to report all burst pipes, leaking water meters, and open
hydrants to: 011 375 5555 / SMS 082 653 2143 /

note that the same rule applies as for any contractor that

An active list is kept of all borehole properties being sunk
in case of water restrictions and Joburg Water inspections.
Please remember to erect a visible sign outside your
property stating borehole water if you make use of
borehole water.
