Lenovo appoints Alaa Bawab as new general manager for Middle East & Africa
Lenovo has appointed of Alaa Bawab as the new general manager for Middle East & Africa (MEA) within the Lenovo
infrastructure solutions group (ISG).
As the head of Lenovo’s ISG for the region, Alaa will be responsible for developing the business vision and strategy
and overseeing execution and delivery on sales plans. He will also focus on building high level relationships with Lenovo’s
customers and partners in the region.
Alaa is well known in the region as a strong business leader, having over 25 years of experience with leading
technology companies. He joins Lenovo from Huawei, where he was VP of the Enterprise business group – Middle East
Enterprise Networking. He has previously also held roles with Cisco, EMC², HPE and others.
Alaa graduated with honours from the electrical engineering department at Marquette University, United States of America.
AURA appoints David Myers as COO
AURA has appointed David Myers as its chief operations officer. Previously a general manager and regional operations
lead at Uber for Europe, Middle East & Africa, Myers brings with him decades of experience that will stand him in perfect
stead for this position.
Myers started his career in the security industry in South Africa, at first with a proactive security start-up, and then
ADT Tyco before moving to the largest tech-enabled market place in the world at Uber.
Dominick Delfino appointed chief revenue officer of Nutanix
Effective 6 December 2021, Dominick Delfino will be responsible for leading the Nutanix worldwide sales organisation
including sales engineering, sales operations, inside sales, OEM sales and channel sales.
Delfino contributes more than 20 years of global sales experience, having led software sales and system engineering
teams at multiple technology and software companies. Most recently, he was chief revenue officer at Pure Storage, where he
was responsible for leading and growing the sales organisation while developing differentiated go-to-market strategies. Prior
to that, he spent six years at VMware, most recently as senior vice president and general manager for all VMware sales in the
Americas. Delfino has a bachelor’s degree in engineering science from the State University of New York Morrisville.
