ST PETER’S BOYS PREP CELEBRATES
75 YEARS OF TRADITION, GROWTH
AND EXCELLENCE
St Peter’s Boys Prep School marks its incredible 75
th
anniversary with a series of festive events, honouring
its rich history, achievements and the journey ahead.
From carnival-style celebrations to a heartfelt Service of
Thanksgiving, the school kicks off a year of memorable
milestones!
IN THE BEGINNING ...
In 1950, Stanley Dodson, a retiring visionary, embarked
on a bold new journey. He bought a piece of land in the
Waveney Valley, just outside Johannesburg. From this
humble beginning, an extraordinary story began.
With ten boys, two girls, and even a cow, St Peter’s Boys
Prep was born — a little farm school nestled in the middle
of nowhere.
AND NOW ...
Today, 75 years later, that small school has grown into a
well-known prep school with over 600 boys on a 34-acre
campus. Sharing its grounds with its ‘sibling schools’
St Peter’s Girls Prep and St Peter’s Pre-Prep, the school
also has a strong family connection with St Peter’s College
up the road!
St Peter’s Boys Prep is a school where tradition meets
innovation. Each boy is nurtured to develop a strong moral
character, ready to face the challenges of high school
and beyond. The khaki uniform has remained the same,
symbolising a timeless connection to the School’s origins.
The School’s journey is a testament to perseverance,
growth and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Over the decades, it has embraced innovative teaching
methods while remaining steadfast in its rich traditions.
This balance has honoured the past while preparing for
the future, ensuring that each boy is exposed to all areas
of academics, sport and culture, and values that will guide
him throughout life.
2025 is set to be a year full of exciting events, commemorations and celebrations as
