THE KUMON METHOD AT BLUE HILLS
Learning together at home, in-Centre and online
By Lorné Golden – Instructor at Blue Hills Study Centre
he Kumon method offers Maths and
English to children of all ages and
Tabilities. What sets Kumon apart is that
we nurture and develop students to become
self-learners, who study above school grade.
This is achieved by the way in which students
are instructed. So rather than teaching in
the conventional sense, students are trained
to learn from the worksheets, which are in
fact their teacher. As the Instructor, I am
the facilitator of their learning from the
worksheets. I guide my students to self-
discover. In this way, they remember better
because they have experienced the sense
of “I did it!”. Having the ability to self-learn
opens up so many opportunities to self-
discover. This is an especially necessary skill
to have in a time where we are faced with
a global pandemic and children are often
left confused, having to regularly adapt to
changes. We at Blue Hills Kumon make it our
mission for students to be prepared and ready
for any challenges or obstacles encountered
and despite all the uncertainty surrounding
them, their learning continues.
At this time when schools are on and off, you
can rely on the Kumon method, where the
learning continues, be it online or physically
at the centre, we follow strict Covid-19
protocols to keep your child safe and their
learning ongoing.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to
experience free Kumon for one week with
our Free Trial Campaign in February and
Lorné Golden March 2021. Please contact Lorné Golden on
