Once we are happy with what has been created, we name
the design and colour and send it to the printers for the
first “strike-off”. This would be a first sample of the design.
We take the strike-off to the designers to confirm that
it meets their requirements. We also get an opportunity
to make changes to the design or colours we feel will
be best accepted in the market. It is usually only by the
fourth strike-off that we are satisfied with what will go
into print. Once everyone is happy, the strike-off is signed
and printing can begin.
We use a local printer for all our cotton-based fabrics and
a European printer for the outdoor range. They use digital
printers as opposed to screen printers and normally
print a role of fabric between 80 and 100 meters for each
design.
Our fabrics are pre-washed and pre-shrunk during the
printing process and arrive with us ready to market (see
image). Every role of fabric is hand checked for flaws
