GETTING TO KNOW OUR ESTATE BETTER

                                     THE QUARRY

The quarry is not easily visible and therefore not well known to many
residents. There are two entrances from which one can access it. At the
top there is a gate next to the post boxes, and another one at the bottom
                                                       by the river.

My family and I visited the water-filled quarry last year to have a picnic
under the many shady trees and my son tried to fish for barbel. On a
previous visit I saw at least 20 barbels swimming near the surface but as
so often happens, my son did not even get a bite, nor did we see any!

It is very quiet and peaceful inside the quarry and the rockface makes for a
compelling backdrop, a perfect spot for a picnic or some quiet time...

I can highly recommend a visit to the quarry. Be aware that there are no
fences near the edge of the rockface so visitors should always be cautious.
It is also necessary to sign an indemnity form which the guards will
provide when they unlock the access gates for visitors.
