YOUNG
LEADERS
I M AG E BY I VA N M U L L E R
CARLISLE HARTMAN
I am 17 years old and have been elected to serve as head boy for 2023 at Cornwall Hill
College. I was born and bred at Cornwall Hill Estate after my parents moved into the
estate in 2000. I am the youngest of three children with Michelle (24) being the oldest
and Anton (21) the middle child. I have attended Cornwall Hill College from the tender
age of four.
From a young age I enjoyed team sports such as hockey, cricket and rugby, of which
hockey quickly became my favourite. Some of my fondest memories are from the school
sport tours and derby days. Over the years I developed a passion for mathematics and
physics. Recently I have also become more interested in chess and I enjoy the mental
exercises it has to offer.
I enjoy taking a break from urban life every once in a while and escaping into our
country’s beautiful bushveld. Although I am still slightly uncertain about my future, I
will most likely follow my siblings’ paths and study computer engineering at UP. I am
nervous knowing that Grade 12 is a very important year, yet I am excited for all the great
things that my matric year will hold in store for me and I can’t wait to start my own
journey out of school.
MMABODIBA KGANYAGO
I am 17 years old and will be serving as the head girl at Cornwall Hill College for 2023. I
have grown up in Cornwall Hill Estate and my family has been on the estate for longer
than I have lived. The thing I love most about living here is the luxury of accessibility to
the school and friends.
I have two older brothers and I am the baby of the family. I have attended Cornwall
Hill College since I was five years old. I do piano, netball and I used to perform karate
internationally. I enjoy reading and baking. I have a passion for numbers so in the future
I hope to attend the University of Cape Town to study Actuarial Science. As I enter
matric, I hope for an academically successful year and hope to make amazing memories
as I bid farewell to the life I’ve known for so long.
JACQUES-SCOTT MORRISON
I am heading into matric as a 15-year graduate of Cornwall Hill College this year, and
have been a resident of the estate for longer than that. I continue to appreciate the
natural landscape and sunset views that Cornwall offers. In my spare time, I enjoy
playing tennis, football and chess. I have an interest in the practical application
of mathematical concepts and plan on studying Actuarial Science in the future.
