FOURWAYS GARDENS’ WAITER WELFARE INITIATIVE
Fourways Gardens Residents rally to support the Clubhouse Restaurant Staff during COVID.

hat started as a small but passionate drive by
resident Lisa Miller and her book club to support
the waitering staff at the Fourways Gardens
WClubhouse at the beginning of lockdown,
developed a life of its own as residents realised that lockdown
levels prohibiting the opening of the restaurant were there to
stay for some time.
“The realisation that the waitering sta whom we see on a weekly
basis were unable to work, inde nitely, was heartbreaking,” says
Hayley Parry, the marketing lead of the residents sub-committee
that was established after the Director of the Fourways Gardens
Home Owners Association (HOA) Board, James Erasmus, put out a
call to residents who wanted to assist.
