ARBOUR DAY AT FOURWAYS GARDENS ESTATE

We celebrated Arbour Day in
true Fourways Gardens style, by
involving our community.

uring the month running up to
5 September, we asked residents
to sponsor a tree that would be
Dplanted in our K56 Greenbelt
area. We were overwhelmed when our
residents sponsored 72 trees! The HOA

had many requests after the cut-o date
to order our trees, so we extended the
initiative for another week to try reaching
the 100 mark!

The HOA team immediately realised that it
would take a long time to plant that amount
of trees in hard soil, so we hired an excavator
for a day to help us get the job done. The

driver was so e cient that he was able to

assist us to de-silt a part of the waterway in
Phase 1 as well!
It was heart-warming to see families come
to the K56 Greenbelt to plant their trees on
the day. Some were planting for a loved one
who were no longer with them, some for a
pet and some for prosperity, a reminder to
their children to grow as strong as the tree
they planted together. The HOA o ered

residents the option to order plaques, so
that special messages could be attached to
their trees, in remembrance of the day.

What was even more impressive was the
number of residents who do not make use of
this area and still sponsored trees. Many were
not available to plant the trees themselves
