QUIZ NIGHT

W ith just 16 points separating the competing teams,

the August Quiz Night saw many ‘close-but-no-point-
awarded’ answers, with a rivalry unmatched so far!

Fourteen teams competed for the generous cash prizes sponsored
by Francesca Beattie Properties and Denoon Sampson Ndlovu Inc.
Conveyancers: R1 000 for the first prize team, R500 for the first
runners up and R250 to the third place team.

As can be expected, spurred on by the Jack Black beers to be
won, several attempts to change the Quiz Master’s rulings were
attempted, but participants had to remember the first rule of Quiz
Night – “The Quiz Master is always right”!!

Congratulations go to Tequila Mockingbird who placed first,
narrowly pushing The Good to second place by one point! Third
place was clinched by The Bad, who in turn pushed Friends out of
the rankings by one point.

As part of the Quiz League, each returning team earns one bonus
point on the table and as this month’s quiz showed, every point
counts!

With perfect attendance at every quiz this year, The Dedicators
showed that dedication pays off, with a League total of 348 points.
Paperbark Profs, while not placing the top three at this month’s quiz,
have a respectable 316 points on the League table, just 17 points
ahead of Friends who are third on the table with 299 points. It’s fair
to say that, with Dayle’s enthusiasm and the prizes getting better
and better, the Quiz Night is going to be very closely contested as
we head towards the League Final!
