WELCOME TO THE CLASSIC CLUB
ost people stop making new
friends or contacts once
their kids leave home. So, we
Mthought it would be a great
idea to get people out of their comfort
zones in order to socialise and make new
friends.
Our first social event for the over 55s at
Fourways Gardens kicked off with an
awesome cocktail party, held on the patio
of our Gardens Bistro. Those who attended
were spoilt with bubbles on arrival – that
soon got everyone chatting and mingling!
We have awesome residents in this estate
and it was great to meet so many people
I had never seen before. It was exciting
to find out how many of them have the
same interests, opening the opportunity
for various spin-off activities. For instance,
we could potentially launch other group
activities such as a social walking hour, a
hiking club and a craft club.
We also have a lot of unrealised talent
which can be harnessed and used to spread
knowledge to those who are keen to learn.
Going forward, 2023 will see a once-a-
month Social Brunch on the last Friday of
the month as well as a dinner for the over
60s. Details to follow soon.
If you are keen on joining our group, please
contact me on 082 659 1048. I’d love to
meet you and include you. We are, after all,
the best estate and have the best people!
Thanks to Mike and Belinda for
accommodating us with the awesome food
and drinks, to the staff who were on the ball
and to all of you who attended this amazing
evening.
Kind regards
Lorna Kurz
