                   EASTER

                EGG HUNT

                      24 March

he perennial question at the Easter Egg
hunt lawn games is always, “Can I eat
the egg” at the egg-and-spoon race, and
T2024 was no exception. Before you get
worried about salmonella, the egg in question
is not a chicken’s egg (too messy!) but a candy-
         coated Hen’s Egg.
Our masses of eager Easter Egg hunters began to
arrive from 8.30am, and by this time, the Easter
Bunny had already hidden hundreds and hundreds
of marshmallow eggs, helped by the Lew Geffen
Sotheby’s and FWG teams. Easter sweetie pack bags
were handed out for the Easter Egg hunt, although
we did spy some Woolworths bags when the hunt
         commenced!

When the Easter Bunny arrived, the younger children
could barely contain their excitement and were
eager to give a hug and pose for a photo, his arrival
also meant the official start of the Easter Egg hunt
and pandemonium as hundreds of children raced to
gather confectionary hidden in the gardens!

By the time the Easter Eggs had been collected, we
were ready for the games on the clubhouse lawns
and had great participation across all age groups. The
children were especially excited whenever the moms-
and-dads took part in the races! For the many first-
time Fourways Gardens Easter Egg hunters, it was a
wonderful opportunity to experience the community
spirit that sets Fourways Gardens apart. Our MC on the
mic was none other than our Estate Manager, Charlene
Marlin, who ensured that the games went on smoothly
and handled the queue of eager children wanting to
announce the start of each race!

We would like to thank the Fourways Gardens
community for your enthusiastic participation and
community spirit that makes this such a great event,
and to our sponsors, Lew Geffen Sotheby’s who
contributed generously to make this a successful
event and were always around to help with the lawn
         games and crowd control!

And, about eating the egg-and-spoon race egg,
         the answer is always – I wouldn’t, and I wouldn’t
         recommend that you do either!
