Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela
Foundation, joined forces to commemorate the ninth anniversary of Nelson
Mandela’s passing. The occasion was marked by the opening of the new Jukskei
Park in Riverlea, south of Johannesburg. The park is in honour of Mandela’s
legacy and at the same time, is symbolic of the One Million Tree Campaign
which aims to promote environmental justice, food security and mitigate the
impacts of climate change.
