The annual Garden Centre Association (GCA) Home Store competition celebrates
excellence within the industry, and offers participating home stores the opportunity
to compete for Home Store of the Year awards. These accolades highlight an
ongoing commitment to excellence, outstanding service and top quality products

for gardening enthusiasts.

Home Store of the Year 2025: Builders
Warehouse Strubens Valley
The space is vibrant and welcoming,
with healthy, well maintained plants
that contribute to a positive customer
experience. There is an exemplary display
of recycling efforts, demonstrating strong
commitment to sustainability. The plant
quality is exceptional, with specimens that
are meticulously cared for and beautifully
presented.
Home Store of the Year Runner Up: Builders
Warehouse Zambesi
The edible section is well organised and
vibrant, grouped effectively and beautifully
maintained. The hard landscaping and
organics departments are of an outstanding
standard, reflecting a high level of
quality and presentation. The rainwater
harvesting display is thoughtfully located
and effectively showcases sustainable
gardening practices. The garden care
department demonstrates excellent
housekeeping and is neat, well-stocked and

Home Store of the Year Second Runner Up:
Builders Warehouse Boksburg
The area is neat, well-organised and
welcoming, creating a bright and inviting
shopping environment, with plant quality
of a high standard. The outdoor colour
section is particularly impressive, with
posters and signage that are clear and well-
placed; this significantly enhances the ease
of the shopping experience for customers.
