SILVER LAKES FIELD EXCURSION
he Silver Lakes field excursion took
place on 19 June in the Silver Lakes
Tgame reserve. The crisp morning air
was tangible when the guided bush walk
started, but the group soon warmed up at
the sight of beautiful birds and antelope
such as Blesbok and Impala in the reserve.
We focused on the small things in the veld,
such as the tropical tent spider and duiker
spoor.
The take-home message for the group
was “be the change you wish to see in the
world”.
The second part comprised environmental
educational games and learning about
tracks. The children all became involved
and learned how to identify an animal
species from its tracks.
