Lower costs
The cost of exercising outdoors is zero compared
to going to the gym. You exercise anytime you
want and get to tone your entire body at no cost.
Easy access
Outdoor fitness equipment is always there at
the beginning and the end of your exercise
programme. The equipment is suitable for all
climates, and people enjoy the health benefits
of exercising in the fresh air.
You don’t get bored
The outdoor environment is beautiful and
stimulating, so you’re less likely to get bored
and may even want to exercise for longer. You
wouldn’t want to be in the gym all the time
when it’s sunny, would you? And if the wind
starts blowing while you’re working out, you’ll
be burning more calories through resistance
training.
Free vitamin D
Outdoor exercise is a good way to get vitamin D,
thanks to your exposure to sunlight. Scientists
have found that overweight people are almost
twice as likely to be deficient in vitamin D than
their slimmer counterparts. In addition, vitamin D
has been proven to lower your risk of contracting
certain cancers, including breast cancer.
The outside environment has great beauty.
You are less likely to get bored and will want
to exercise even longer. That’s because you
wouldn’t want to be in the gym all the time when
it is sunny.
Improved health
The aim of exercising outdoors is to tone up and
improve your health. Parks are ideal locations for
an enjoyable workout in a natural environment.
Some people just want to kill time in the park
rather than exercise – but if they keep their legs
moving while chatting to friends, they feel good
about themselves because they are actually
exercising.
In general, heading outdoors for fitness not
only provides you with the benefits that come
from working out, it also offers you a change
of scenery and more variety in terms of your
activities.
Enjoy exercising outdoors and may 2023 be a
healthy year for you and your family.
