SNAKES, MONITORS AND TORTOISES

Ecology Talk Saturday, 10 May

rant Fairley and Pride Marufu of
TIRA presented an interesting view
Gon reptiles in our environment.

Topics included were how humans have
lived with reptiles historically and how
humans can live in harmony with their
cold-blooded neighbours in South Africa.

Also covered was a ‘what-to-do’ if a snake
is encountered, and the snakes of Silver
Lakes.

On hand were beautiful exotic snakes and
Molly, a granny tortoise, for attendees to
experience and get to know more about.

The younger attendees absolutely loved
this, once again proving that fear of snakes
is learned.
