SILVER LAKES MEN’S SCRATCH LEAGUE

REIGNS SUPREME

he Silver Lakes Men’s Scratch League team has once again
stamped its authority on Gauteng North golf by clinching the
TGauteng North Premier League title for the sixth consecutive
year. This unbroken winning streak began in 2019.

The team’s 2025 campaign was extraordinary: they went unbeaten
throughout the season and finished with a score that was double
the points of their closest challengers.

In a league demanding consistency and class, Silver Lakes delivered
both in abundance. Out of a possible 80 games, an incredible 60
were won, reflecting the strength and depth of the squad.

The team is a dynamic blend of rising young talent and seasoned
mid-amateur players – proof of a well-balanced strategy on and off
the course.

The following players all played in more than two matches during
the triumphant season:

This formidable group was expertly managed by Nico Janse van
Rensburg, whose leadership continues to drive the team to new
heights.

With this dominant performance, Silver Lakes now advances to the
Northern Provinces Scratch League Finals, to be held at home on
2 and 3 August 2025. The team will face off against the respective
winners from Central Gauteng, Ekurhuleni, North West, Limpopo
and Mpumalanga. It’s a scenario where Silver Lakes has thrived
before, having lifted the provincial title three times in the last five
editions.

As Silver Lakes Golf Estate prepares to host this prestigious event, we
call on our members, supporters and the wider golfing community
to rally behind the team. Let’s fill the fairways with our support and
give our players the home-ground advantage they deserve.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to every player, manager
and supporter who made this season one to remember. Here’s to
our continued success and, hopefully, another title come August!
