T ogether with the Mall of Africa,
SA Fashion Week continues to
build South African designer
brands, ensuring that they
hold their place alongside the national
and international retail giants.
Fashion enthusiasts will be ecstatic
to learn that this season’s Spring
Summer 2021 (SS21) Digital
Collections will kick off at the end
of next month, on 29 April 2021,
featuring 29 designers over a three-
day digital streaming programme.
“The designer community consists
primarily of SMMEs that employ small
contingents of artisans, including
seamstresses and pattern makers.
This industry, like many others, has of
course been largely impacted by the
effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and
subsequent lockdowns. It has been a
challenging time for these businesses
to remain operational with limited
trade and cash flows. Providing them
with an opportunity to showcase
their latest collections is, therefore,
more critical than ever,” says Lucilla
Booyzen, CEO of SA Fashion Week.
The best talent across the country will
feature in the SS21 Digital Collections.
Men’s- and womenswear will be
showcased, with all garments being
wholly unique and trans-seasonal, and
aligned with international trends.
The SS21 Designer Collections
can be watched digitally between
29 April 2021 and 01 May 2021.
Ticket sales information for this
season will be communicated
