nETCARE 911
A comprehensive overview of the Netcare 911 emergency medical services
T he emergency medical services
(EMS), Netcare 911, is a single-
source medical evacuation
provider in southern Africa.
This means that clients need not
engage with multiple stakeholders
to get assistance timeously. Instead,
there is a single point of contact for all
emergency medical requirements.
With a fleet of over 200 ambulances and
response cars, specialised ICu-equipped
ambulances, rescue vehicles, four
fixed-wing aeromedical ambulances
(jets and turboprop aircraft) and
seven medivac helicopters, the team
at Netcare 911 is committed to, and
capable of offering the best response
time and medical expertise to clients.
The fleet is located nationally, and
Netcare 911 has vetted and enrolled
a reliable service provider network to
assist with any overflow call volume.
The 24-hour helicopters are based at the
ultimate Heliport in Waterfall as well as
in Durban. A daylight helicopter service
is available in Cape Town. In addition,
the fixed-wing jet air operation, based
at Lanseria Airport, frequently flies into
Africa and internationally to repatriate
patients into and out of South Africa.
This is a dedicated 24-hour doctor
and paramedic resourced service.
Says Operations Director, Shalen
Ramduth, “At Netcare 911, we strive
to provide quality and effective
