Welcome
Welcome to Waterfall City
A SHOWCASE OF EXCELLENCE IN PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT
It is our great pleasure to present to you the inaugural Waterfall City Special Edition
magazine, which features a collection of our greatest achievements and milestones over
the last few years. It has been an eventful journey of transformation, converting 2 200ha
of vacant farmland into an internationally-acclaimed world-class smart city. What has been
achieved here to date is truly remarkable – and what is even more significant is that the
development is only halfway completed.
A good place to start our journey through this magazine is to reflect on the recognition
awarded over the years by the panel of esteemed professionals judging the International
Property Awards. This is followed by the exciting reveal of the new brand identity, where
we have renamed Waterfall to Waterfall City – an apt descriptor, since this development has
now established itself as the new economic hub of Gauteng.
Undertaking the building of a smart city of this nature is no small feat – it takes a cohesive
effort with all parties moving in unison in the same direction to realise the vision and
honour the values that are fundamental to every aspect.
In our rebrand article, we unpack the cornerstones that embody the values underlying
all the different facets that together make up this smart city. These are highlighted in the
articles that follow, as we showcase examples of major projects and top companies in the
fields of technology, pharmaceuticals, auditing, engineering, logistics, retail, hospitality and
the latest residential developments.
One of the most important threads running through the precinct is the quest for
sustainability, which is an essential factor in determining and building the infrastructure
of Waterfall City. The sustainable management of this infrastructure, of necessity, has
to embrace various factors such as water and waste management, traffic flow, road
maintenance and the like.
Communication is also key when managing and supporting a diverse community such
as the one that has chosen to make Waterfall City its home. This is why we have our own
podcast series, which we broadcast to the community via our Go Waterfall app.
And then, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words – and we agree, which is why
we have included a selection of stunning photos (some taken by our residents) presenting
the natural beauty of Waterfall City.
There’s a groundswell of consciousness sweeping the globe – where the intangibles of
living in an urban environment are gaining prominence. Here, these values have been the
norm right from the start, and this is what makes Waterfall City Gauteng’s preferred lifestyle
and blue-chip business destination.
We hope you enjoy your journey through these pages.
