Appliances are easy on the eye as they tend to occupy the most space in

a kitchen and are a huge investment. Adding to their appeal these days is

the latest trend: their colour and the mood they convey.

I n 2024, the kitchen is going full-blown

technicolour. Gone are subtle colour
palettes like duck egg and deep green.
In their place, homeowners and kitchen
designers are going for colour schemes
and want their ovens, microwaves and
dishwashers to match in colour and/or tone.

With advancements in smart technology,
expect more and more appliances to
integrate seamlessly into interconnected
homes, offering unprecedented automation
and customisation. Increasingly,
manufacturers and consumers are focusing
on appliances that can reduce energy and
water waste.

Fridges with functional features that keep
food fresh for longer will likely continue to
trend in 2024 – specifically the humidity-
controlled drawers with adjustable airflow;
these allow food to be exposed to different
humidity levels for optimal fresh storage.
