Waterfall City Tournament of Champions dazzles
M ay witnessed the thrilling
return of the Waterfall City
Tournament of Champions
Golf Tournament, and by
all accounts, it was a resounding
success! With perfect weather,
fierce competition, and an electric
atmosphere, the event delivered an
unforgettable experience on Royal
Johannesburg’s famed East Course.
The tournament kicked off with an
incredible vibe, enhanced by solid
audience turnout. Members from the
Waterfall City Athletics Club arrived
in numbers on both days, injecting a
vibrant community energy that truly
elevated the atmosphere.
Golf fans were kept captivated by
an unexpected turn of events. While
local heroes MJ Viljoen and George
Coetzee led for the first two days,
and Mexico’s Luis Carrera was heavily
backed after a strong season, it was
Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent who
pulled off a stunning upset. “Vincent’s
performance was nothing short of
Kieran Vincent wins the Waterfall City Tournament of Champions title. phenomenal; he didn’t drop a single
shot in the third round, carding
an awe-inspiring 61 that put him
in control of the leaderboard and
ultimately secured a well-deserved
victory,” explains Anneli Marais,
Marketing Manager at Waterfall City
Management Company. “We were
pretty confident a local would take
it – MJ Viljoen and George Coetzee
were in the lead. But Kieran Vincent
turned it all around, pulling off a
surprise win that kept us on the edge
of our seats.”
