Blood Drives
Polofields Crossing
shopping centre
has been hosting
monthly blood
drives in support
of SANBS for a
number of years. One unit of blood can save
up to three lives because donated blood is separated into red blood
cells, plasma, and platelets – each of which can be given to a different
patient. Every 48 seconds, someone in South Africa needs blood and
every donation could save a life.

Thank you to all the donors who gave so selflessly of their lifeblood
and participated in the Waterfall City blood drives. Between January
and October 2025, 254 units of blood were collected, which means up
to 762 units were transfused to recipients needing blood. If you would
like to donate in the future, you will find the SANBS tent outside West
Pack at Polofields Crossing shopping centre. Keep an eye on our
socials for donation dates.

On Mandela Day, July 18 , the Attacq

Foundation and Waterfall City turned
compassion into action, packing an
inspiring 324,432 meals during the Rise
Against Hunger marathon at Waterfall
City Park, Mall of Africa. Thank you to
every volunteer who filled a bag, every
sponsor who funded a box, and every
passer-by who cheered the team on.
Your 67 minutes changed thousands
of lives.
