ESTATE GARDENS
fficially, it is the end of winter and
Oit has been a busy and exhilarating
month in the garden. We have done a
massive amount of work preparing the
gardens for spring.
The team has been hard at work doing
various upgrades and maintenance of
the gardens, ponds and dams as well
as creating new designs in islands and
beds around the estate!

Here is a list of suggestions
to do in your garden this month:
• Clear the garden and paving of weeds
• Lift, split and divide perennials New floating gardens in dams
• Prune plants such as Texoma, Plumbago and
Hypericums
• Add copious amounts of compost to the beds
• Feeding is vitally important with superphosphate
Indigenous garden designs and 2:3:2 and remember to water well
• Feed trees with compost and mulch
• Give lawns a spring treatment by scarifying and
adding lawn dressing
• Re-pot overgrown indoor and outdoor containers
• Sharpen all garden tools
• Plant new shrubs, trees and fruit trees
• Stake plants and young trees to protect them
against the August winds.
