TEST REVIEW KIA
KIA CARNIVAL
T he latest version of the large MPV was bonus of a large boot even with a full complement of passengers.
Space is the name of the game, with stretch-out space for every passenger plus the unusual
launched recently by Kia SA.

the top spec SXL model that boasts every
possible luxury along with two individual
captain’s chairs in the middle row.
All models in the range are powered by
the 2.2l 4-cylinder turbodiesel that provides
148kW and 440Nm to the front wheels
through a very smooth 8-speed automatic
transmission. This provides effortless,
comfortable cruising in all conditions and the
test vehicle even returned fuel economy of
around 7.5l/100km for my test period.
In addition to a large gap between
the multi-adjustable captain’s chairs for
passengers to reach the third row seats,
the Carnival has large sliding doors on both
sides for easy access. These were powered
on the top model allowing you to open or
close them from the key fob or using buttons
behind the steering wheel.
Every possible luxury is added, as you
would expect from a vehicle in this category,
including USB ports for the middle and
third row seats. There are 2 sunroofs above
the front and third row seats, although,
interestingly, the middle row doesn’t benefit
from them.
